NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HomeServe North America (HomeServe), a leading provider of service plans, repair and installation services for the home, today announced the acquisition of Gregg Mechanical. Gregg Mechanical, based in Staten-Island, was established in 1987 by Gregg Gaal to provide a variety of heating and air conditioning-related services to customers in Staten Island, Brooklyn and parts of New Jersey.
HomeServe’s growing HVAC business has been key to the company’s growth in North America. The company’s goal is to offer a complete solution to the installation, repair and maintenance of residential heating, air conditioning and water heating systems. The Gregg acquisition represents the company’s latest step in capturing a piece of the estimated $29 billion annual HVAC business opportunity in the U.S.
“There’s nothing more exciting than seeing our company continue on its growth trajectory by building out our HVAC business segment,” said HomeServe North America CEO John Kitzie. “For more than 30 years, Gregg’s customers have entrusted their homes to the company’s skilled technicians. Their shared commitment to HomeServe’s high-quality customer service makes them a natural fit for our company, and undoubtedly will continue as Gaal and his team become part of HomeServe.”
“When I started this company, I did it because I wanted to ensure people got the service they needed when they needed it. Over the years, I’ve surrounded myself with people who shared that same goal,” said Gregg Gaal. “As our companies come together, I know we’ll all continue doing what we do best: delivering quality repairs and installations. That’s long been our mission, and now we get to do it together with HomeServe.” Gaal will become General Manager of the Gregg business for HomeServe.
HomeServe has been doing HVAC repairs and installations in the greater New York City area since 2010. In Staten Island alone, HomeServe’s technicians completed service calls for nearly 12,000 customers in the last 12 months.
